Halls Donate Shed To Sutton Coldfield Shopping Centre
It's difficult to imagine Sutton Coldfield town centre without the Gracechurch Centre and, as part of thecentre’s fortieth birthday celebrations, we are giving away a 10ft x 8ft workshop to a local deserving cause.
If you visit the centre there's a series of events from Friday 8th – Sunday 17th August, centred around a 1970s themed exhibition. You can put on your white suit and take part in a Disco Dance class, groove to an Abba tribute act, take a 70s selfie and also win a fortnight's holiday in Benidorm.
For the children, there's face painting, a treasure hunt and story telling, together with a retro games zone.
Hall's Garden Supplies have provided Gracechurch with colourful hanging baskets for several years and we were asked to help out by donating a shed for the '40 Good Deeds initiative'. This is a special part of the birthday celebrations and aims to help local people and charities with time, space or gifts. The workshop is the centrepiece of the 70s exhibition, wrapped in style and standing next to a gleaming Ford Escort, one of the decade’s favourite cars.
It's been filled with a variety of products from that decade. People of a certain age will remember with affection the space hopper, chopper bike, teasmade and other products that were once the height of fashion. After the event, the shed will be given to the community group, school or charitable organisation in the town who are judged to be the most deserving and who will make the best use of it.
Look out for news of the judging process in the Sutton Observer and Sutton Coldfield Local, and you will have the chance of joining in the celebrations by winning the shed!
