For most, the excitement and fun of Christmas is all over by the 25th. But for us here at Hall’s, it continues well after the festive season and even into the new year! That’s because every January we fl y to the Netherlands to visit the Kaemingk Showroom, located in Aalten, to see their spectacular Christmas collection.

Kaemingk is a global supplier of seasonal decorations who are renowned for imaginative styling and perfect presentation. In their own words, they state on their website: ‘Every season, we, as a decoration supplier aim to design a truly worthwhile, distinctive collection of seasonal decorations for in and around the home. We are always looking for new trends and we have a reputation for creative styling and extremely efficient, reliable logistics and a quality management system. We have been supplying to various sectors, including DIY stores, E-commerce, garden centres, department stores, supermarkets, discounters and various retailers, for 85 years.’
Staff from Hall’s have been visiting Kaemingk annually for the past 12 years, and it’s safe to say that this year’s collection was as incredible as ever. As our largest Christmas supplier, we spend a lot of time perusing the collections and deciding what to buy for the upcoming season to sell in our Christmas shop. For 2 days, we explored their different themed rooms which all contained jaw-droppingly creative and inspiring displays.

Once we had ordered our basic staple items that we get every year, including Lumineo Lights, Everlands trees, swags and garlands and Decoris glass and shatterproof baubles, we could get to the fun part - the themes! With 11 in total, there was a lot to take in, but we quickly decided what we liked, what we believed our customers would like and of course, what would look good in our space.
Amongst the classic and traditional, this year’s standout themes that we are hoping to incorporate into our shop this season included ‘Palazzo Chic’, ‘Noël à Paris’, ‘Showtime’, ‘Nature’s Paradise’ and more.

Beginning with our favourite, Palazzo Chic, which is described as ‘classically chic’ and an ‘ode to the renaissance’, this quirky theme gave us casino vibes and reminded us of places like Monte Carlo and Vegas with decorations including harlequins, dice and playing cards.
The clever combination of deep and dark shades of reds, pinks and purples with hints of gold here and there really gave a daring and almost seductive feel to the room which defi nitely got people talking! If you looked closely, you could see masquerade masks jotted around the room which further contributed to the elusive mysteriousness of this theme!

Another standout item from this collection that certainly adds to the glitz and glamour feel was a burgundy artifi cial Christmas tree (yes, Burgundy!). The sound of it may put some people off, but when fully dressed, it really did look incredible and, of course, very unique! We feel it would look fantastic next to last year’s ‘wild card’ tree, our Tiffany Fir Gold… so keep your eyes peeled as it may well be making an appearance in our shop for the 2025 season!

The next room that caught our eye was inspired by the French capital. This theme was based around being ‘festive and fabulous’ with decorations that oozed Parisien chic, including Eiffel towers, macarons and expensive perfumes, designer handbags and lipsticks!

The colour theme featured a combination of blush pink, night blue, pearl and wool white to create a soft yet elegantly classic and timeless feel. We feel this theme would add something new to our Christmas shop whilst not being totally ‘out there’!

The last theme that really caught our attention was ‘Showtime’ which was centered around having fun at Christmas and embracing the occasion by getting dressed up and feeling glamorous. This room was so bright it could almost blind you, with disco hanging from the ceiling balls and lots of glitter everywhere!

Whilst this room was undeniably untraditional, the colour scheme was arguably classical, featuring Christmas red and festive pink baubles. A unique addition to this room included lots of rollerblading ornaments as well as Western-themed decorations including cowboy hats and boots. Whilst not explicitly stated, we felt these additions were an ode to Taylor Swift and her best-selling cowboy-themed Eras tour that took place all over the world throughout the entirety of 2024.

We really feel like this theme screams fun and everything young, wild and free and we are excited to get creative and see how we can work this into our Christmas shop!

We had such a fantastic time as always visiting Kaemingk this year. It is a
fabulous opportunity to get excited and inspired for the upcoming season (even if it is 11 months
in advance!). We are already looking forward to getting stuck in to Christmas 2025 and in the words
of Kaemingk, ‘sparkling up the season’!
